Pale Blue line: Historic Route 66. that can still be driven.
Green, and blue lines mark alternate alignments used over the years. Black lines indicate sections that cannot be driven but are stil visible: bridges, segments of old paving, dirt tracks that mark the old alignments. The gaps in alignment: is where it is buried under the Interstate.
Click on any town icon and follow the link to that town's web page, you will find plenty of useful information (weather, history, interesting spots, landmarks, hotels and motels and directions on the alignment of Route 66 close to it).
