Color key to the Map
Pale Blue line: Historic Route 66.
Red line and gaps in alignment: is where it is buried under the Interstate.
Blue, Green, Pink, Salmon, Violet: different courses taken by US 66; check the respective towns for an exact detail on these color keys.
Brown: Bypass or Beltway 66 in Springfield
Orange: the 1926-32 alignment near St. Louis and the 1926-30 alignment from Springfield through Staunton.
Black: missing segments, "Gaps" in the lines show where the original roadbed is now buried beneath the interstate highway (I-55).
